Friday 29th January Covid-19 Vaccination Clinic
The large number of vaccinations being given poses a huge logistical challenge both within the medical centre but also with car parking at the centre and traffic in the surrounding roads.
Those attending should please arrive no earlier than 5 MINUTES PRIOR to their appointment time.
Parking onsite will be strictly limited to those with severe mobility issues who would not otherwise be able to get to the centre. Those attending for vaccination should please utilise the public car parks in and around the town centre and make the 5 to 10-minute walk to the centre; this should minimise traffic around the medical centre.
Dorset Council have allocated additional car parking space for those attending for a COVID vaccination at (West Street (Bus Garage) car park). There will be no charge for patients attending the Centre for vaccination. Marshals will be available to direct walkers to the centre. Please see map below for details.
With no queues, for those dropping off and picking up patients, the estimated time for collection will be around 25-35 minutes (this varies depending on the vaccine given).
The team will do their best to keep things moving but wherever possible, please avoid West Allington and West Road as queueing traffic is expected.
This clinic is for our “Clinically Extremely Vulnerable” (CEV) patients and patients aged 70-75yrs.
We appreciate attending Bridport Medical Centre may be more challenging for those who are CEV but ask that they consider being dropped off at the surgery with their driver then able to make use of the allocated parking to wait, prior to collection.
The vaccinating teams and marshals will do everything they can to minimise wait times, but queues do sometimes spill outside; some rain is forecast and patients are asked to wear suitable clothing and footwear to protect against cold and wet weather.
